Scope of Work
- The Objectives of the Assignment: The overall objective of this consultancy is to enhance the capacity of statisticians in SADC Member States and in São Tomé and Príncipe (STP) to effectively utilize the MPI as a comprehensive tool for policy development and poverty reduction. By providing in-depth capacity-building workshops and targeted technical assistance, this initiative aims to equip national teams with the necessary skills and knowledge to compute, analyze, and interpret their national MPIs and SADC harmonized MPIs. This, in turn, will enable them to develop evidence-based policies that address the multiple dimensions of poverty, thereby contributing to the achievement of their national development plans, SADC Vision 2050 and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The detailed scope of work can be obtained from the terms of reference below.
- The SADC Secretariat now invites eligible consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consulting firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (i.e., Company profile detailing alignment to the assignment, description of similar assignments undertaken, experience in similar conditions and availability of appropriate skills among staff).
- The consulting firm should have significant in-depth expertise and knowledge in activities such as stakeholder engagement, training and capacity building conducted under this assignment must align with the World Bank’s Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) and its applicable Environmental and Social Standards (ESSs), ensuring that recommendations consider potential environmental and social risks and align with best practices in transboundary water resource management. Work under this consultancy is also expected to incorporate gender-sensitive approaches in all project activities and conduct a GBV/SEA/SH risk assessment.
