Overview
The Government of Mozambique, through the National Directorate of Water Supply and Sanitation, invites consulting firms to submit expressions of interest for supervising the construction and rehabilitation of household toilets in Quelimane. The assignment is part of the Urban Water Security Project financed by the World Bank. Firms must meet specific experience and qualification criteria to be shortlisted.
Scope of Work
2. The consulting services ("the Services") include the supervision of the construction and rehabilitation of approximately 489 household sanitation facilities in the Mapiazua neighbourhood of Quelimane Municipality, including 387 new household toilets and the rehabilitation of 102 existing facilities.
Requirements & Qualifications
Consultants must demonstrate that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The shortlisting criteria are: be a reputable Civil Engineering Consulting firm with at least 10 years of experience in supervision and contract administration services for projects of a similar nature and complexity. Specific experience of at least 5 years in the supervision of construction and rehabilitation works related to household sanitation facilities and public sanitation facilities in Mozambique. Demonstrated experience in the implementation and supervision of the World Bank Environmental and Social Framework (ESF), including Environmental and Social Standards (ESS), Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs), Labour Management Procedures (LMP), Stakeholder Engagement Plans (SEP), Grievance Redress Mechanisms (GRM), and SEA/SH risk management. Consultants may associate with other firms to enhance their qualifications.
