Kenya Broadcasting Corporation

Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) is the state-owned national broadcaster of Kenya, operating multiple television channels (KBC Channel 1, Y254, Venus, and others) and radio stations (KBC English Service, KBC Kiswahili, plus regional vernacular services in over a dozen Kenyan languages). KBC traces its origins to 1928 as the British East African colonial broadcaster, becoming the Voice of Kenya after independence and renamed to KBC in 1989. As Kenya's public broadcaster, KBC has a constitutional mandate to provide impartial news and inclusive cultural and educational programming.
