Jumia Food Nigeria (legacy)

Jumia Food was the food delivery arm of pan-African e-commerce platform Jumia Group (NYSE: JMIA), operating in Nigeria as the dominant food delivery platform for many years. In December 2023, Jumia announced the closure of its Jumia Food operations across seven African markets including Nigeria, citing challenging macroeconomic conditions and the company's strategy to focus on physical goods e-commerce. The closure left the Nigerian food delivery market to Glovo, Chowdeck, Bolt Food, and other entrants. Jumia's parent e-commerce marketplace continues to operate in Nigeria.
