Supporting black South African manufacturers
About Black Industrialist Scheme South Africa
The Black Industrialist Scheme (BIS) is a South African government policy initiative administered by the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC), designed to promote and support the growth and participation of black-owned and managed businesses in South Africa's industrial sectors and value chains. BIS provides grant funding covering 30-50% of qualifying project costs (capped at R50 million), requires a commercial or development finance co-funder, and targets manufacturing, value-added industrial activity, and exports. The scheme has supported hundreds of black South African industrialists across food processing, metal fabrication, chemicals, plastics, and other sectors.
