Arik Air

Arik Air Limited is a Nigerian airline founded in 2002 by Sir Johnson Arumemi-Ikhide and launched commercial operations in October 2006. At its peak, Arik Air was Nigeria's largest airline by fleet size and operated domestic, regional, and intercontinental routes including flights to New York, London, and Johannesburg. The airline was taken over by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) in February 2017 due to significant debts, and has since operated under receivership with a substantially reduced domestic fleet and route network.
